Most
of our bear hunting is done with an experienced pack of hound dogs, although
calling them in with a predator call, and spot and stalk can also be very
effective. In southwest New Mexico black bears are found in all color
phases; black, brown, cinnamon, and blonde. |
cougarSouthern New Mexico cougar thrive on a good population of mule deer and hunting is done with a well seasoned pack of hound dogs. A fresh snow is considered a gift when cougar hunting, but most hunting is done on dry ground. It is a great pleasure to watch an experienced pack of lion dogs work a track on bare ground.
